prescribed creams
(1) duac and differin
I was prescribed duac first and when started to use it. Initially it made my acne a lot worse but apparently this is the aim of the cream to draw out the spots and then dry them up with benzyl peroxide which is a drying agent. All it did for me is bring all the acne out and keep it there, it was completely opposite to an acne fighting cream! I found it my skin was very dry and itchy as well. Everyone has mixed views on this product but it is personally not my favourite. This is why I was then prescribed differin as it was supposed to be less harsh to the skin. Differin does not contain benzyl peroxide which being a drying agent can be harsh to the skin so as it does not have it, it should be quite gentle right? Wrong. it was terrible! There is something in it that just makes your skin peel, become dry. It didnt clear up my acne either. So as you can see i am not a fan of either of these products.
(2) zineryt
finally after differin I was prescribed zineryt. It is only supposed to be for
mild acne, but my doctor told me to give it ago. I think it is very good as it doesn't make your acne worse before it gets better it simply gets rid of the spots. It takes a few days for it to dry the spots up but it does its job well.I would recommend this product instead of the other two topical treatments. But everyone is different and all skin types have it preferences. Make sure you are doing the basics though! Lots of water, keeping your face clean, and nothing to unhealthy!
